The "corkage", the chance to bring a bottle from home and consumarsela the restaurant, is a common practice in the United States but not always permitted by law. That is why Wine Spectator has conducted a small survey. The result is published in the map shown here: in states marked in green you can put an TARE wine from home, those marked in red only if the caterer allows.
A total of 25 states that allow corkage restaurants. Fifteen states prohibit the following regulations and twelve ambiguous and unclear. In short, we rely on a case by case basis.
